Featured in Ballistic EXOTIQUE 4, page 146. The book will be released in November 2008. In case you want to know about the characters, read the small text at the bottom of the description.

They are both my original characters whom I first experienced on 3D. Now I remake them in 2D, for the sake of their appearances that was terribly destroyed by my sucking 3D skill.

I want to say thanks to Firstborn, kayness, Ed, Ivy, Faerywitch and Oz from PB for your precious crits. And a special thank to Ree for having fixed the anatomy.
It's fun when this pic has been finished around Valentine's Day, as I haven't painted a humanoid couple for ages (I just hate painting multiple characters in one canvas).

 Whether you're single or married, Happy Valentine everybody!!!

*Character descriptions*
I created both characters about 2007 (more info in my WIP thread - too long to be written here) and they were planned to be opposite to each other. I designed them not only following my favourite style but also basing LOOSELY on the Yin & Yang theories of the ancient South Asians. To sum up, Yin & Yang is the ultimate opposite couple, also the rule and structure of the universe. In this pic :
Female, Eastern/Oriental, low, dark, cold, flexibility, defense, etc = Yin
Male, Western/Continental, high, light, heat, rigidity, offense, etc = Yang

Of course I can't gather all elements in just one pic. I just take it very loosely.
More definitions and examples on Yin & Yang please go here : [link]

I portraited the female character as a Noh actress. Noh drama is a very unique opera of the Japanese, where the performers get in the plays with masks.
In the pic, the highest mask she's holding is an Okina (old man) mask with happy expression.
The mask on her other hand shows the face of a Hannya - a woman who is turning demon because of jealousy.
The mask around her hip shows a common beautiful Onna (woman) with neutral expression.

Just one more thing, I did study several things and find tons of refs about Noh drama in order to design the female character, while the male one was totally made up.

Thank you so much for your kindness :thanks:. I still need a lot of time and practice to become a respectable artist, so such estimations of viewers have given me more inspirations and strengths to go on.

Thanks again :).

You welcome! But according to me an artist -though it might gain experience and knoledge with time- it's talent, wisdom, and respect what keep an artist going and push them to become someone great within the industry.
