can you explain a little bit of your process? Because it looks a bit like a digital painting the finished piece. Did you use the AO rendering as a base for painting in Photoshop?

I'm really surprised when you think that I overpainted the AO rendering. Just look at my 2D/Photoshop paintings in my gallery so you know that my actual 2D skill is not that good.
Here I just show the wireframe and the AO rendering as rough/non-texture model along with closeups. I DID NOT call it a process.
Here's the early process : [link]

Anyway, thank you for having commented :).

I thought your 2d stuff was pretty good actually in my opinion. I hope I didn't upset you by my comment, I was just curious as to how you came to your end result, and was making an un-educated guess when I asked about the AO overpainting, not an assumption.

It's okay :). I wasn't upset at all :D^^.
When you make a separate AO rendering of the scene and then lay it on your final rendered image as (an) Overlay or Multiply layer(s) with appropriate opacity , it helps strengthening the contrast and depths/distances of the scene. That was why I had it :).
